La Biennale di Venezia 2021

The 17th International Architecture Exhibition will run 22 May to 21 November 2021 at the Giardini and the Arsenale. How will we live together? will be the title of this year’s exhibition, curated by architect and scholar Hashim Sarkis.
An exhibition in which architects are asked to imagine spaces of serene and generous human coexistence, despite the increasingly evident economic and social inequalities of our time.
The Weekends on Architecture will supplement the curatorial programme for the 17th International Architecture Exhibition. Between October and November 2021, there will be three weekends for six appointments with a series of lectures and panels that will bring together architects and scholars from around the world to address the question How will we live together?.
The 78th Venice International Film Festival, directed by Alberto Barbera, will take place at Venice Lido from 1 – 11 September 2021. The 15th International Festival of Contemporary Dance will run from 23 July to 1 August 2021, directed by Wayne McGregor. The programme will feature daily events with soloists and international companies as well as the activities of the Biennale College Danza dedicated to specific training projects that will be included in the Festival’s programme. The 65th International Festival of Contemporary Music will run from 17-26 September 2021, directed by Lucia Ronchetti. The programme will feature several daily events focused on the dramaturgy of vocal sounds in the practice of today’s music. The activities of the Biennale College Musica will be part as usual of the Festival’s programme. The 49th International Theatre Festival will run from 2 – 11 July 2021, directed by Stefano Ricci and Gianni Forte: the programme will feature daily events with the most important protagonists ot the contemporary theatrical scene, along with the productions made in the context of the Biennale College Teatro, the training project aimed at young artists.
